Creating a print-ready PDF is one of the best ways to ensure your project prints accurately and without unexpected delays. Following these simple guidelines will help us produce the highest quality results from your artwork.
Step 1: Save Your Original File
Always save your project in its native application before creating a PDF.
Examples include:
- Adobe InDesign (.indd)
- Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
- Adobe Photoshop (.psd)
- Microsoft Publisher (.pub)
- Canva (download as PDF Print)
Keeping your original file allows you to make future edits without having to recreate your project.
Step 2: Export a High-Quality PDF
When you’re ready to send your file, export or save it as a PDF.
Choose one of the following options if available:
- Press Quality
- High Quality Print
- Commercial Printing
- PDF Print (Canva)
These settings preserve image quality, fonts, and vector artwork for professional printing.
Step 3: Use High-Resolution Images
For the best print quality:
- Raster images (photographs) should be 300 DPI at their final printed size.
- Avoid using images copied from websites or social media, as they are typically
only 72 DPI and may print blurry or pixelated. - Whenever possible, use original high-resolution photographs.
Step 4: Use Vector Graphics When Possible
Logos, illustrations, and line art should be created as vector graphics whenever possible.
Vector artwork stays perfectly sharp regardless of size and produces the highest quality printed results.
Step 5: Color
RGB artwork is acceptable for most printing projects. If your project contains specific corporate colors or requires exact color matching, let us know when placing your order so we can discuss the best printing method.
